My family and I took a little field trip today to the Adventure Science Center in Nashville. Since we had never been before, we jumped on an offer from Groupon to buy an annual family pass for over 50% off. (And by the way, if you haven't subscribed to Groupon yet, you're missing out!)
Unfortunately, we chose a day when many, and I mean MANY, schools in the area had also chosen the Adventure Science Center as their field trip of choice. Because the museum is actually designed for older children (meaning K-12), we didn't get to stay very long b/c our little tots were having to dodge getting trampled at every turn. : (

I was thinking Adventure Science Center was for older kids for some reason and wondering about whether to take Andrew (who is 4.5). That would be on a weekend. We have a season pass to our local children's museum, so I think we get a discount to ASC. Think it is good for his age group or we should wait a few years? I'm sorry you had to deal with crowds and dodging the "big kids" but it does look like they had fun in the pictures! :)

My two toddler aged boys love their wooden Train Tablesset. Out of all the toys that have, which is a considerable amount, the train set is the one they come back to. The two great things about their wooden train set is it's durability and expandability. Over the past year we have been able to add a large train station, a couple of bridges, a level crossing and a good deal more track. Being used by toddlers play can be quite rough at times but the train set has stood up well to all of the hard knocks it has taken.
